Aakira joined Salmon Youth Centre as a young member and, over the years, has grown into an active and valued volunteer. She has embraced a wide range of opportunities, supporting younger members and getting involved in different projects, activities and community events.

Aakira is kind, caring, approachable and responsible, and she is always willing to help others. She is passionate about creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable, supported and able to be themselves.
As a young leader, Aakira has regularly helped guide and support children aged 6–10 and 11–16. She has also volunteered at summer schemes and community projects, giving her time to help create positive experiences for younger members.

Aakira has been involved in a number of Salmon projects, including contributing to a BBC podcast for Children in Need. Her commitment and positive contribution to the Youth Centre have also been recognised through her receiving Member of the Year.

Now, Aakira has taken the next step in her Salmon journey by becoming a Youth Ambassador. She hopes to use her experience, enthusiasm and understanding of the Youth Centre to encourage, support and inspire the next generation of young people.
