The previous head of Salmon, (Cambridge University Mission) Timothy Dudley-Smith, has died
We give thanks for the life of the our previous Head of Cambridge University Mission and celebrated hymn-writer the Rt Revd Timothy Dudley-Smith died in the early hours of Monday 12th August morning in Cambridge, aged 97. He served as Director from 1952-1956 and wrote the lyrics of about 400 hymns, among the most familiar of which are “Lord, for the years” (1967) and “Tell out, my soul” (1962). He was appointed to the Order of the British Empire in 2003 for his “services to hymnody.”Our prayers are with his family and friends.
