Double matching incentive for Salmon half marathon fundraiser

04/03/2019

On Sunday 10th March 2019, a team of 18 runners from Salmon will be taking part in the Vitality Big London Half Marathon for the second year running!

This is a big fundraising charity event with Sir Mo Farah leading the runners in a half marathon, which is then followed by a community festival in Greenwich Park.

Each of our runners are aiming to raise sponsorship of at least £350 from their family, friends and contacts in support of Salmon.

Pound-for-pound matching

Thanks to some generous funders, every donation raised by each runner, up until £500, will be matched on a pound-for pound basis – effectively doubling the donation total. Further still, for every pound raised in excess of £500, we have been offered a ‘double matching’ incentive of two pounds per pound.

So for example, a runner raising £500 will be matched by another £500, making £1,000 in total.  But a runner raising £700 will be matched with £900 (£500 x1 + £200 x2) making £1,600 in total.  Someone raising £1,000 will be matched with £1,500.

Please help us to raise as much money as possible to support the vital work Salmon does in providing a place and a purpose for disadvantaged young people in Bermondsey.

Ways to donate

You can donate in the following ways:

  • Via our fundraising page here – https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/salmonyouthcentre
  • By cheque, payable to the Salmon Youth Centre and sent to The Salmon Youth Centre at 43 Old Jamaica Road, Bermondsey, London SE16 4TE.
  • By direct bank transfer to Salmon’s bank account (Sort Code 60-83-01; Account Number 20180201), quoting ‘Big Half’ as the reference.

Gift Aid will be added automatically if we already hold a declaration from you, or a form will be sent to you if we don’t.

This is our only sponsored fundraising event in this financial year so we very much hope you will be able to support us.

A big thank you in advance from all of us at Salmon.
