After leaving Cambridge back in 1980 I came to Salmon (then CUM) as a resident where I met my husband Brian. We got married in St. James in 1982. Brian worked in the City but retrained and was ordained in the Church of England in 2010 after being diagnosed with a degenerative genetic disease. He served in rural parishes in Cumbria but he died December 2022.

I have been a Trustee of Salmon for a few years and now split my time between Cumbria and a flat in London. I trained as a Chartered Accountant but returned to academia working in universities and more recently served on the Board of the University of Cumbria responsible for Strategy and Planning. I now sit on a Health Research Agency Ethics Committee reviewing medical research and am a volunteer walks guide for the U3A in the Lake District.
